Prof. Sami M. Fereig has, in his nearly 50-year career, acquired extensive experience in structural engineering, construction engineering and management, and construction disputes. He also has numerous publications in scientific journals.
He has practised in both North America and the Middle East, and was a Professor at Kuwait University, and a visiting Professor at various Universities both in the Middle East and North America. He is actively involved in construction contract administration and project management with a number of organizations which include public and private companies in both engineering and construction.
He is the primary trainer of the Certificate in Conflict and Dispute Management for Project Managers, offered through Projacs International in participation with Conrad Grebel University College and the University of Waterloo. He was previously the director of the program, from its inception in 2002 to 2008. Since this program began, about 600 participants, from more than 200 organizations, have completed one or more workshops.
He is also the author of a five-volume series of textbooks published between 2005 and 2007 dealing with contract management in Engineering and construction projects. These works are being used as reference texts by professional engineers and by undergraduate and graduate engineering students.
Prof. Sami M. Fereig was elected as a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) in 2009.
